From the Northwoods to the Texas hill country and in every deer camp and lodge in between, the .30-30 rifle remains the perennial choice of whitetail hunters. More than just another deer cartridge, the venerable .30-30 has been the king of deer calibers since the first rifle chambered in this ageless round was produced in 1894. In fact, it’s a safe bet that in the past century, no other round has put more antlers on the wall and venison in the freezer than the .30-30. So it only made sense that Henry, America’s most storied rifle maker, would produce a rifle chambered for this legendary caliber.

A caliber that traces its origins from the battlefield to its modern-day presence in hunting camps across the country.
Our lever gun offerings have progressed from .17 and .22 caliber rimfires, to pistol cartridge centerfires and in 2011 to the most popular deer-hunting caliber of all – the .30-30. Now for 2012 we are introducing a new model chambered for a famous cartridge capable of handling even the largest game in North America. That’s right: We now make .45-70 lever actions!
Back when the West was still wild and the rifle was the tool of choice for survival and frontier justice, the venerable .44-caliber put more meat on the table and outlaws in the ground than any other bullet.
The West may have been tamed and fenced long ago, but its unbridled spirit lives on in this line of traditional big-bore Henry rifles.

While we are fond of the brass tradition begun by B.T. Henry’s 1860 rifle, we do understand that today’s hunter may prefer something a shade lighter on the mountain, and the 2015 introduction of the Big Boy Steel carries on the same brush gun appeal of the brass-framed Big Boys in its overall configuration, but with upgraded features for the modern hunter, while weighing in 1.68 lbs. less than its shiny cousin.
Whether you choose one chambered for .22 LR, .22 Magnum, or .17HMR, the Henry Golden Boy is a masterpiece of fine crafted gunsmithing. Any shooting enthusiast who closely examines one is immediately impressed with the excellent fit, finish and overall visually elegant design.
